A DESTINATION

For over 30 years, The Wine Vault has stood as staple for casual drinkers and wine enthusiasts alike. The original store is located in the University area, with over 10 restaurants within walking distance. The new Elizabeth location opens the doors wider to our customers being near uptown and a host of restaurants and destinations. The Wine Vault offers a now rare opportunity for guests to enjoy each others company in a cozy, comfortable environment. With live music every weekend, wine tastings every week, and monthly wine events, a real sense of community hits you as soon as you walk in.

Always taking resumes!

Although we are full staffed right now, you never know what’s gonna happen in the future. Typically, we look for fun and happy people to work 3 shifts a week. Qualified candidates must be at least 21-years-old. Experience working in retail or restaurant environments is preferred.

To send us a resume, please email a current version to info@headwino.com.  Please also list your availability in your introduction.  Thank you!

Like a vintage Bordeaux, the Wine Vault at University Place looks even better today than it did when 1980s restaurateur Slug Claiborne launched it over 30 years ago as a part of his Slug’s University Place restaurant. The Wine Vault has thrived and evolved under longtime owner Tim Wallace into the signature gathering spot for our community.

Tim – “That this is not just a place. You come here with nothing, no chip on your shoulder. Everybody is the same. We treat everybody the same, we love everyone. This is really just a place to relax and enjoy really good wine and the people you are with.”

The PEOPLE

TIM WALLACE

OWNER

Looking for part time work, Tim started working at The Wine Vault in 1996 while getting his degree in Marketing and City Planning at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After moving to pursue a career in distribution, Tim was approached by the Owners of The Wine Vault with the opportunity to buy the store. Tim was able to take the small wine shop and turn it into one of Charlotte’s premier gourmet wine destinations. In addition to growing the business, he has taken The Wine Vault’s role in the community and given back to multiple areas including UNC Charlotte, Time Out Youth, and Charlotte Wine, and Food Weekend. Tim focuses his time on continuing to build that desire to learn in all his patrons, making sure to offer wine education tastings, wine dinners, and plenty of the best wine and beer on the shelves.
